Better Vision for a Better Life

Vision correction surgeries that BLU offers

Laser Eye Surgeries

IntraLASIK (Femtosecond LASIK)

IntraLASIK offers a safer LASIK experience; by performing the first step of surgery flap creation; with a cold femtosecond laser. This treatment is also called “Bladefree LASIK” which is painless, comfortable and takes only a few seconds for a clear vision without glasses&lenses. Today globally, ophthalmologists prefer IntraLASIK method over standard LASIK. Dr. Bas is the first doctor who implemented IntraLASIK in the Netherlands and in Istanbul.

CustomVue Wavefront LASIK

The percent of vision (Visus) you have depends on a vision disorder that is called aberration. There are two types of aberrations: low&high order. Low order aberrations are related to ordinary abnormalities, such as myopia, farsightedness, astigmatism, and can be corrected with LASIK. High order aberrations can lead to vision problems: reduced contrast sensitivity&night vision, glare, shadows or halos. These can be corrected by wavefront treatment.

TransPRK ("No Touch" Laser Eye Surgery)

We as BLUmeditravel, for international patients of Dr. Nusret Bas, we are offering latest and pioneering technology and techniques.
With the SCHWIND AMARIS laser, it is possible to perform all procedures on the surface of the eye without the need to touch the eye. TransPRK is suitable for a certain group of patients offering less tissue damage and shorter healing period, without making an incision in the eye.

Monovision Eye Surgery

Monovision (reading glasses correction) laser eye surgery is a technique that treats presbyopia. After surgery patient will be able to see well with one eye at a distance and close to the other eye. As both eyes work together patient will able to read and see distance (not perfect) but relatively well. Mono-vision treatment is an option for people who have the reading problem and doesn’t want to use glasses in daily life activities

Laser epithelial keratomileusis is a relatively new procedure that combines elements of PRK and LASIK. LASEK is used to treat low to high levels of myopia, presbyopia, and astigmatism. Dr.Bas sometimes chooses LASEK as a treatment option, because it may offer some advantages over PRK and LASIK, including reduced risk of flap complications and post operative haze.

Keratoconus Treatments

Corneal Ring Implantation (Intacs®)

Intacs® Implants, which are ophthalmic implants designed for the reduction or elimination of myopia and astigmatism in patients with keratoconus. By Intacs we aim to; restore the vision, and deferring a potential cornea transplantation surgery. Intacs can be very effective at changing the shape of the cornea and flattening the cone caused by keratoconus. However, the Intacs procedure cannot end the progression of keratoconus which is caused by weakening of the collagen within the corneal tissue. For strengthening the cornea, Corneal Ring Implantation surgery might be combined with Corneal Crosslinking treatment.

Corneal Crosslinking

Keratoconus is a progressive disease. In order to stop or slow down the progression, a procedure called corneal cross-linking (CXL) is performed. In CXL  Dr.Bas uses a combination of a topical solution of vitamin B (riboflavin) and controlled UV light exposure to strengthen corneal collagen fiber. This treatment aims to stabilize the cornea. In some cases, Corneal Crosslinking treatment is combined with Intacs implants for the best treatment outcome in progressive keratoconus. By this combination, the cornea is stabilized and the patient has relatively a better vision.

IntraOcularLens Implantations

Artisan/Artiflex Lens Implantation

Contact lens implants are similar to a small 'contact lens', which is placed in the eye, instead of on the eye. Benefits are a pain-free treatment with a very fast recovery time and an exceptionally clear vision. Persons who are not yet of old age and have a significantly different strength or extremely thin cornea are the most suitable candidates for this treatment. However, the treatment plan for the final treatment is done with Dr. Bas. Our patients should not forget that the final treatment decision is given in accordance with the recommendations of Dr.Nusret  Bas.

Prelex Multifocal Lens Implantation

For a vision without glasses and contact lenses after a certain age, multifocal lenses can be an option. Prelex can be used to correct all kinds of refractive disorders, such as astigmatism, moderate to high myopia (nearsightedness) and hypermetropia (farsightedness). In many cases, it is especially useful to apply this treatment to presbyopia, the inability to see sharply at a later age. Some advantages of Prelex are - unlike other forms of refractive surgery - that Prelex can be used in people with presbyopia, dry eyes, thin cornea or high refractive disorders.

ICL (Implantable Collamer Lens)

Implantable Contact Lenses are an option for patients with severe myopia or hyperopia, who cannot be corrected with Laser Vision Correction Surgeries. As well as patients who for other reasons are not good candidates for laser refractive surgery. There are various types of ICL Intraocular lenses for patients with different visual needs. After a careful examination, Dr. Bas decides about which type of lens to implant, uniquely.
ICL is a popular and successful alternative to LASIK, PRK, refractive lens exchange, or other laser refractive surgeries.

CLE/RLE (Clear-Refractive Lens Extraction)
RLE also called lens replacement surgery or clear lens extraction may be a better option than LASIK, PRK or phakic IOL refractive surgery for people with presbyopia and high hyperopia.
In RLE / CLE surgery, the lens of the eye is replaced with an artificial lens to correct your refractive error and achieve sharper focus, reducing your need for reading glasses or bifocals. Especially for patients whose lens in the eye got damaged, aged or proved cataracts, RLE / CLE treatment is a widely performed option
